Our Founders, Ben Ross and Nicola Veltman, truly ‘walked the talk’. Ben founded 1000 Mile Travel Group in 2015 as the business’s first independent travel advisor. With 15 years’ experience working for a large global travel management company, Ben was burnt out and believed there must be a better way to do the work he loved while finding balance in his personal and professional life.

As he grew his independent travel business, Ben built a unique plan. This became the foundation of 1000 Mile Travel Group’s global success. It gives experienced, independent travel agents access to top buying power, technology, and support. They can manage their business and meet their clients’ travel needs while living a lifestyle as unique as they are.

Founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2015, 1000 Mile Travel Group has grown into a leading global host travel agency supporting more than 500 independent travel advisors across Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The business expanded into the UK in 2017 before entering North America in 2022 through its integration with Corporate Travel Management. Today, 1000 Mile Travel Group combines the personalised service of independent travel advisors with the scale, technology, and global buying power of one of the world’s leading travel management companies.
