VA double points offer

New Velocity members can earn double Points when they book an eligible Virgin Australia domestic or international flight. Western Australia welcomes interstate and international travelers

As of 12:01 am Thursday 3 March, Western Australia’s hard border has been lifted to allow for safe quarantine-free travel into WA from interstate and overseas, with vaccination and testing requirements on arrival. New Zealand removes self-isolation requirements

The New Zealand Government lifted all self-isolation requirements for vaccinated citizens and other eligible travelers entering New Zealand as of 11:59 pm on Wednesday 2 March 2022. A negative PCR test is required prior to departure and two Rapid Antigen Tests the first on arrival and then another on day five.

Daily Sydney, Melbourne flights return with Etihad

Sydney and Melbourne will once again see daily departures from Etihad Airways beginning Sunday 27 March as confidence grows in the rebound of international travel and the return of tourists and business travelers from around the world.

Qantas launches Sydney-Broken Hill flights

QantasLink is adding Broken Hill to its network, with twice-weekly direct flights between Sydney and the far west city beginning on 8 April this year. Flights will run on Monday and Friday each week using a QantasLink de Havilland Q300 turbo-prop, an all-economy 50-seat plane.

Etihad brings back daily Sydney, Melbourne flights

From Sunday 27 March, Etihad will again run daily flights leaving from Sydney and Melbourne. The flights will run in a split schedule depending on the day of the week. Flights will leave Sydney at 3:55 pm on Wednesday Friday and Sunday while on the other four days flights will depart at 8:55 pm. For Melbourne, flights will leave at 10 pm on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and at 4:15 pm on the remaining days of the week.

Emirates’ A380 returns to Brisbane in March

With international travel reopening, Emirates has made the move to bring its A380s back to Brisbane. The returning of the super jets is almost four months ahead of schedule and comes as International borders restrictions ease and Australian travelers’ confidence in overseas travel returns.

Changes to Australian entry requirements

The Australian Government have advised that all travelers entering or transitioning through Australia need to complete a Digital Passenger Declaration (Australia Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) (homeaffairs.gov.au), instead of the current Australian Travel Declaration before departure.

Air NZ IATA Travel Pass

The IATA Travel Pass app is now available for customers travelling on international flights operated by Air New Zealand. The app allows customers to manage securely store COVID-19 health credentials on a mobile device to use at the airport during check-in. Click here for more information.

Etihad Increases Australian Flights

Etihad Airways is increasing their daily flights to 14 per week from 27 March 2022 to meet growing travel demands. The new flights will be operating on Boeing 787 aircraft.
