1000 Mile Travel Group comes together in Queenstown

 

In early November, eight of 1000 Mile Travel Group’s top achieving travel advisors from around Australia joined CEO, Ben Ross and Business Partnerships and Development Manager, Veronica Curran for an action-packed six days in Queenstown, New Zealand.

Sponsored by Destination Queenstown, Altitude Tours, Black NZQ, KJet and Stay South, the nearly weeklong adventure provided 1000 Mile Travel Group’s advisors Kerri-Ann Coleman, Kurt Hufer, Nick Anderson, Dave Burt, Jo Houston, Tanya Vaz, Megan Stanley, and Ivona Sniarska with a chance to connect with one another and share their expertise, while enjoying some of the best and most luxurious activities Queenstown had to offer.

Sights and sounds of New Zealand

Arriving on day one at Commonage Villas the trip kicked off with a dinner hosted by Destination Queenstown, before heading out with tour guide Tanya on a full-day tour of world-famous Milford Sound on day two courtesy of Altitude Tours.

On day three the group enjoyed a Helicopter Gin Tour courtesy of Altitude Tours comprising a scenic flight of the area before landing atop the mountain overlooking Lake Wakitipu for a drink of limited edition Cardona Gin before visiting “The winery” in historic Arrowtown, with a final stop off at the “Broken Hearts Gin Garden”.

Not to be outdone, the group headed off on a Central Otago Wine Tour on day four, starting out at Gibbston Valley Winery, the First winery in NZ where pinot noir was planted in 1982, before lunch at Kinross Estate, followed by tastings at Nockies Palette and Stoneridge, before a drive home via the stunning Mt Rosa.

Leaving the best until last, the team of adventurers put their resolve to the test, taking in some of New Zealand’s most hair-raising activities including bungee jumping, the Skyline Chairlift, and Luge, and a jet-boat ride sponsored by Destination Queenstown and KJet, before wrapping up the trip with a farewell dinner at White + Wong Restaurant sponsored by 1000 Mile Travel Group.
