The much-anticipated 1000 Mile Travel Group (1000MTG) annual North American Top Achievers Trip is here, marking a significant milestone for top travel advisors and agencies across the region. This year’s winners enjoyed an unforgettable experience at the Omni Tucson National Resort in Tucson, Arizona between October 20 to 23, 2024.

This picturesque destination offered the perfect backdrop for recognizing and rewarding excellence in travel. Set against the scenic beauty of the Sonoran Desert, the Omni Tucson National Resort provided our top achievers with luxurious amenities, culinary delights, and spa indulgence.

“Our top achievers experienced the newly renovated Mokara Spa, a perfect setting for relaxation and inspiration,” shared Christy Shafer, 1000MTG Senior Vice President and General Manager North America. “The team was also treated to a dine-around that showcased the resort’s unique dining options, each highlighting the beauty of the Sonoran Desert. From regional-inspired menus to crafted cocktails, every detail celebrated the spirit of the Southwest.”

A first-class experience

This year’s award for Top Agency went to Direct Access Travel Group, a women-owned and led agency specializing in global events, logistical management, and concierge services. Recognized for its exceptional client service and innovation, Direct Access has set a high standard for travel agency excellence.

Karen O’Brien from Direct Access Travel Group reflected on the event’s highlights: “The Omni National in Tucson has amazing chefs, and the food was first-class. We especially enjoyed our breakfast at the Desert Farmer; our server went above and beyond. The cocktail offerings were delightful, and the mountain view at The Peak is stunning.”

Rising Star winner, Andrea Keiderling Fehl, who was awarded for her passion and specialization in Family Vacations and popular destinations such as Hawaii, and Europe expressed her delight with the trip, remarking, “the Omni Tucson National made for a very enjoyable visit. The staff was phenomenal, and the cuisine was top-notch with a wonderful wine selection.”

Most Engaged Advisor David Petlin from Flair Travel, whose remarkable achievements include a 100% Virtuoso customer satisfaction rating and recognition as a top producer within multiple Virtuoso communities, enjoyed the delights of the Omni Tucson before jetting off to the ALG Ascend 2024 Conference. “Getting recognized as a top achiever within 1000 MTG is an honor and to get to celebrate with such great company and other stand-out agents was a lot of fun. I loved our opportunity to dine around and visit the various food and beverage outlets the first night. The hotel really showcased their unique food and beverage offerings and how much care they put into their food,” stated David.
