Qantas A380s return to the skies
Qantas has brought forward the return of its A380 jets to 11 January 2022, with the superjumbos now operating on the SYD-LAX route. The double-decker jet will fly three days a week between the cities alongside one weekly Boeing 787 service.
Singapore pauses Vaccinated Travel Lane
Following a directive by the Singapore Government, Singapore Airlines has stopped accepting new bookings for all Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights into Singapore that are scheduled between 23 December 2021 and 20 January 2022 (both dates inclusive). The changes are in response to the spread of Omicron.
The United Kingdom updates arrival requirements
The United Kingdom has updated its arrival requirements for vaccinated travelers. If you qualify as fully vaccinated for travel to England and arrive after 4 am on 7 January, you don’t need to take a COVID-19 test before you travel or quarantine on arrival. Read more.
Singapore Airlines schedules Dreamliner to Perth from February
With Western Australia’s borders set to re-open from 5 February 2022, Singapore Airlines has announced the return of its Dreamliner services to Perth. Singapore Airlines will fly from Singapore to Perth daily on both SQ223 and SQ225.
United confirms new Polaris business class for Airbus A321XLR
United Airline’s A321XLR jets will feature an all-new Polaris business class seat when they take wing from the end of 2024. The fully lie-flat single-aisle seat will debut on United’s trans-Atlantic routes with the Airbus A321XLR to accommodate around 180 passengers.

QT Hotels and Resorts has released some images of its highly-anticipated QT Newcastle, which is set to open in April 2022. The 104-room hotel features rustic and industrial decor throughout and includes a variety of public spaces and function rooms. Read more.
